PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Port St. Lucie <\/a>ranked as one of Florida\u2019s least healthy cities in a new WalletHub report, finishing No. 141 overall and trailing every Florida city in the study except Cape Coral and Hialeah. The 2026 report cited weak rankings in health care, green space and access to healthy dining options for Port St. Lucie.<\/p>\n

Port St. Lucie landed near the bottom of Florida\u2019s cities in WalletHub\u2019s 2026 \u201cHealthiest & Unhealthiest Cities in America\u201d<\/a> report. WalletHub gave Port St. Lucie a total score of 38.25, with especially weak showings in health care at No. 129 and green space at No. 155 in its national rankings.<\/p>\n

The report also highlighted some specific trouble spots for Port St. Lucie: it ranked No. 175 for healthy restaurants per capita and No. 178 for dietitians and nutritionists per capita, both among the worst in the country.<\/p>\n

Across Florida, Orlando was the highest-ranked city in the study at No. 24 nationally, making it the state\u2019s healthiest city in WalletHub\u2019s rankings. Orlando scored 56.07 overall, with category rankings of No. 39 in health care, No. 25 in food, No. 24 in fitness and No. 58 in green space.<\/p>\n

Other Florida cities that finished higher on the list included Tampa at No. 36, Miami at No. 46, St. Petersburg at No. 53, Fort Lauderdale at No. 56, Pembroke Pines at No. 74 and Jacksonville at No. 77. Miami stood out in particular for food access, ranking No. 6 nationally in that category.<\/p>\n

No other cities on the Treasure Coast or in Palm Beach County were included on the list.<\/p>\n

At the bottom of the Florida list, Cape Coral ranked lowest in the state at No. 150 overall, followed by Port St. Lucie at No. 141 and Hialeah at No. 134. Cape Coral posted weak category rankings across the board, including No. 165 in health care and No. 164 in green space, while Hialeah ranked No. 170 in green space.<\/p>\n

Tallahassee also showed up in one of the report\u2019s weaker nutrition measures, ranking No. 138 for the share of adults not eating enough fruits and vegetables per day. Hialeah, however, did get one bright spot: it tied for the fifth-lowest average monthly fitness-club membership cost in the country.<\/p>\n

WalletHub said it compared more than 180 of the nation\u2019s largest cities using 41 indicators across four broad categories: health care, food, fitness and green space. Nationally, San Francisco ranked first, followed by San Diego, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.
