TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – An \u201caltercation\u201d over the weekend led to the arrest of a 17-year-old who is now facing numerous charges, including manslaughter.<\/p>\n
Trenton Williams is charged with manslaughter, child neglect, burglary and other charges in connection to the incident that occurred Saturday evening and claimed the life of 47-year-old Brandy Collins, according to the Taylor County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The teen\u2019s arrest comes after deputies responded to a home on Dennis Howell Road regarding a disturbance just before 7 p.m. Saturday, TCSO wrote in a press release Monday. Authorities received a 911 call \u201cwhere several raised voices could be heard engaging in an altercation,\u201d deputies said.<\/p>\n
Before deputies arrived, a second 911 call was received, requesting EMS for an unconscious woman who the sheriff\u2019s office later identified as Collins. Deputies then arrived and attempted to save Collins\u2019 life. <\/p>\n
However, the sheriff\u2019s office said the 47-year-old woman was transported to Doctors Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

An investigation led deputies to develop probable cause that Williams arrived at the home \u201cunlawfully and without permission entered one of the vehicles, and stole several items from the vehicle valued at about $950,\u201d the press release said.<\/p>\n
Witnesses claim that the 17-year-old then left the home \u201cdriving recklessly with his toddler child in the vehicle,\u201d hitting a mailbox and nearly hitting Collins, \u201cwhile making derogatory comments to her about the state of her health,\u201d according to deputies.<\/p>\n
Moments later, authorities said Collins collapsed in the driveway as Williams sped away. <\/p>\n
The teen suspect was later contacted, taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail, according to TCSO.<\/p>\n
