ERIC WITH AS MUCH RAIN AS WE’RE GETTING, YOU’RE WATCHING FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF FLOODING. ABSOLUTELY. THAT’S WHY WE’RE CALLING TODAY AND TOMORROW IMPACT WEATHER. WE HAVE FLOOD WATCHES POSTED. I MEAN, THIS IS OCALA, ONE OF THE AREAS THAT’S ACTUALLY DRIER, SO TO SPEAK. SO THAT SHOULD PUT THAT INTO PERSPECTIVE. LOOK AT THE MAP. OKAY. THE AREAS HIGHLIGHTED IN ORANGE ARE AREAS THAT COULD SEE 3 TO 5IN OF ADDITIONAL RAIN OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS TIME. THAT’S THE I-95 CORRIDOR. AND THE QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED. I FEEL LIKE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IS THIS THE KIND OF THING THAT COULD HELP OUR DEFICITS AND OUR DROUGHT? AND THE ANSWER IS YES. WE’VE NEEDED ABOUT FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IN DAYTONA BEACH, SO HOPEFULLY WE’LL BE ABLE TO GET THAT THROUGH THE METRO. WE’RE LOOKING AT KIND OF A HALF INCH TO TWO INCHES RANGE. AND THEN THE FURTHER WEST YOU ARE, THE LESS AND LESS AND LESS WE EXPECT. BUT FLOOD WATCHES ARE POSTED FOR OUR I-95 COMMUNITIES. AND TODAY THE WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER JUST UPDATED THEIR FLOOD THREAT MAP. GOING FROM A WATCHING TYPE EVENT TO MORE OF A POSSIBLE. SO IN OTHER WORDS, THE I-95 CORRIDOR. ABSOLUTELY NEEDING TO WATCH, ESPECIALLY IN POORLY DRAINED AREAS. WE ALSO, BY THE WAY, HAVE GUSTY WINDS BECAUSE ALL OF THIS WITH A STORM SYSTEM. SO IT’S GOING TO BE PICKING UP THE WINDS TODAY. SO WIND ADVISORIES ARE POSTED. HERE’S FUTURECAST. I’VE GOT THE RAIN AND I’VE GOT THE WIND GUSTS ON THEIR 8:00 WIDESPREAD RAIN. I HAVE A FEELING THAT MEAGHAN MACKEY AND I ARE GOING TO BE QUITE BUSY GETTING INTO THAT PEAK MORNING DRIVE TIME BECAUSE OF THE RAIN, THE WIND AND OF COURSE, THE SLICK ROADWAYS. HERE’S 10:00. THE RAINS ARE STILL WITH US, GUSTS RUNNING 20 TO 30 AND THEN THROUGH LUNCHTIME. THE RAIN’S WANT TO ISOLATE MORE AND MORE ALONG THE I-95 CORRIDOR. THAT’S WHERE THAT FLOODING THREAT CONTINUES. 2 P.M. 3:04 P.M. SHOWERS, POCKETS OF HEAVIER RAIN. BUT NOTICE THE WINDS GUSTING 20, 30, 35 MILES AN HOUR OR SO. NOW, IN ADDITION TO ALL OF THAT, IF IT WASN’T ENOUGH, THE TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING. IN OTHER WORDS, BASICALLY WHERE WE’RE AT NOW IS JUST WHERE WE’RE GOING TO BE KIND OF ALL DAY. WE’RE NOT GOING TO WARM ALL THAT MUCH LOWER 70S THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS IN TOWN. FOR NOW, FIRST WARNING, LIVE RADAR SHOWING SOME OF THESE HEAVIER BANDS OF RAIN LIFTING UP TOWARD LAKE WEIR LEESBURG UP TOWARD HOWEY IN THE HILLS DOWNTOWN ORLANDO HEAVIER BAND WORKING THROUGH SOTO, MOVING YOUR DIRECTION. MORE DOWNPOURS FOR PALM COAST. BACK OVER TO FLAGLER BEACH AND FOR KIND OF CENTRAL VOLUSIA COUNTY, DOWN TO ABOUT BREVARD COUNTY WATCHING GOOD STEADY RAINS. PORT SAINT JOHN, SOME REAL DOWNPOURS THOUGH. SOUTHERN BREVARD COUNTY INTO INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FROM ABOUT FLORIDANA BEACH DOWN THROUGH ABOUT GRANT-VALKARIA AND MICCO. SO WIDESPREAD RAINS THIS MORNING, BUT THE RAIN SHIFT EAST INTO THE AFTERNOON TIME FRAME AND OBVIOUSLY THAT’S WHERE THE RAIN CHANCES TODAY ARE THE HIGHEST. SO IMPACT WEATHER TODAY, TOMORROW BECAUSE OF THE WINDS, BECAUSE OF THE RAINS AND BECAUSE OF THE FLOODING CONCERNS. THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AS TEMPERATURES START TO CLIMB, RAIN CHANCES DROP AND MEAGHAN. IF ALL OF THIS I

Impact weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday due to widespread rain, raising concerns about flooding.
