Bilingual singer \/ songwriter Jessi Campo is celebrating the release of her new collection of\u00a0slow, romantic\u00a0Cuban standards, her 6th overall release titled\u00a0Boleros<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Books & Books Coral Gables (265 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134).\u00a0The new collection brings new life to the golden era of\u00a0Boleros, performing classic 1960s repertoire alongside original songs that honor her Cuban heritage and her father\u2019s musical legacy as a performer in Cuba and New York.\u00a0The event is free with\u00a0RSVP here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be able to share the music that continues to inspire and storytell everything I do,\u201d says Campo. \u201cI can only hope to continue in my father\u2019s footsteps and further champion the cause of Cuban music through this release.\u201d\u00a0Her father Giovanni was an exceptional entertainer from the golden era of music who shared stages with musical colleagues like Beny More, Tito Puente and Perez Prado.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0Boleros\u00a0album reunites Campo after 10 years with producer Jose Velasquez, who produced and arranged\u00a0La Pasion de la Lupe<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a02016. On this release they create a signature combo of covers in Campos\u2019 soulful, jazzy style. The new collection covers much musical ground, and includes two original compositions, \u201cPorque Me Haces Falta\u201d, and \u201cTan Sola\u201d.<\/p>\n

The new single and video for the classic \u201cY Hoy Como Ayer<\/a>\u201d (originally written by Pedro Vega) and is now streaming on all platforms though Sony Orchard. The show is free and open to all ages, with the music beginning at 7:30 p.m. Additional album standouts include the\u00a0bolero ranchero\u00a0\u201cLa Gloria Eres Tu\u201d by Cuban composer Jose Antonio Mendez, and \u201cEsta Tarde Vi Volver\u201d from Yucatan, Mexico\u2019s Armando Manzanero.<\/p>\n

The traditional\u00a0bolero\u00a0\u201cEsperame en el Cielo\u201d, written by Puerto Rico\u2019s Paquito Lopez Vidal, is recorded as a duet with Jessi\u2019s mom Nina Campo. She was also an actress and singer from the 1960\u2019s who also performed as a powerhouse duo act called Giovanni and Nina.<\/p>\n
