{"id":224785,"date":"2026-04-09T12:58:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T12:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/224785\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T12:58:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T12:58:29","slug":"man-accused-of-filming-child-in-cruise-ship-bathroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/224785\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of filming child in cruise ship bathroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CLEVELAND, Ohio (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleveland19.com\/2026\/04\/07\/akron-man-accused-filming-child-cruise-ship-bathroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cleveland19.com\/2026\/04\/07\/akron-man-accused-filming-child-cruise-ship-bathroom\/\">WOIO<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; A 41-year-old Ohio man was arrested in Florida last week after an alleged incident involving a teenage boy on a cruise ship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Kevin Six, of Akron, is charged with one felony count of digital voyeurism against a child younger than 16 years of age, court records show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the Broward County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Florida, Six secretly set his cellphone up to record a 15-year-old while the boy was \u201cabout to disrobe to take a shower in the restroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Kevin Six, 41, of Akron, was arrested for video voyeurism in Florida on April 3.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/4WNTBXSI6JFWZD2JAJB67H6TU4.bmp\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Kevin Six, 41, of Akron, was arrested for video voyeurism in Florida on April 3.(Broward County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 15-year-old said he and Six, who is described as a \u201cfriend\u201d of the alleged victim in the affidavit, were sharing a room on the cruise ship.<\/p>\n<p>What happened on the cruise ship<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The teen told investigators he was getting ready to take a shower on April 2 and asked Six if he needed to use the restroom before he showered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Six said he did and went into the bathroom, according to records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">When the teen then went in to take a shower, \u201che noticed the defendant\u2019s backpack and when he looked for a second time, he noticed the defendant\u2019s cell phone camera sticking out of his backpack in the direction of the shower.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators said the 15-year-old took Six\u2019s cellphone and watched the video.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe video depicts the defendant setting up the cell phone camera in the direction of the shower, where he knew [the alleged victim] was about to disrobe and take a shower,\u201d the affidavit states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the sheriff\u2019s office, the teen \u201csaw this video and recorded it on his phone, and went to tell his grandmother, who told him to let the cruise security know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The arrest<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Six was then placed in isolation on the cruise ship until it docked at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on April 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A detective said Six \u201cspontaneously uttered that he was sorry and did not know why this happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He was arrested and booked into the Broward County Jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to court records, Six was released on Monday after posting $50,000 bond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">WOIO reached out to Six for a response but has not heard back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">An attorney for Six is not listed in court records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WOIO via Gray Local Media, Inc.
