FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 South Florida shoppers will soon have a new home destination to browse in person, with Wayfair <\/a>announcing plans to open its first Florida store at Galleria Fort Lauderdale<\/a> in late 2027.<\/p>\n

The new location will bring the online home retailer\u2019s signature mix of furniture, d\u00e9cor, housewares and appliances to a two-level, approximately 94,000-square-foot space, giving shoppers a chance to explore room displays, design inspiration and seasonal finds in person.<\/p>\n

Wayfair said the Fort Lauderdale store will be designed with South Florida living in mind, featuring styles and selections that reflect the region\u2019s coastal look, indoor-outdoor lifestyle and love of entertaining at home. The company said shoppers can expect everything from statement furniture pieces and d\u00e9cor accents to practical finds for kitchens, patios and family spaces.<\/p>\n

In addition to browsing in-store, customers will be able to work with design experts on projects ranging from a simple room refresh to a full-home makeover. Wayfair said many products will be available to take home the same day, while larger purchases such as sofas, dining sets and outdoor furniture can be delivered.<\/p>\n

The store is expected to become part of a broader transformation at Galleria Fort Lauderdale, which is being redeveloped into a mixed-use destination with updated retail, dining and residential offerings.<\/p>\n

For shoppers who have long known Wayfair as an online source for home inspiration, the Fort Lauderdale store will offer a more hands-on experience \u2014 one where customers can see, touch and shop pieces in person while gathering ideas for how to bring the look home.<\/p>\n

Wayfair said the Fort Lauderdale opening will mark its first Florida location and another step in the company\u2019s growing brick-and-mortar expansion.<\/p>\n

Wayfair currently has two North American retail stores, with six more announced, including the Fort Lauderdale location. In addition to its main brand, the company has also been opening Birch Lane <\/a>stores in Florida. Birch Lane, a Wayfair specialty brand, currently has a store in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park<\/a>, along with stores in Sarasota and Tampa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.
