<\/a><\/p>\nMultiple program records fell as the Wildcats enjoyed a strong showing close to home at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic in Daytona Beach.<\/p>\n
Kasie Ugeh<\/a>\u00a0highlighted things on the women’s side with her top weekend of the season. She set a new school record with a first-place finish in the discus with a 49m throw. She also finished first in the shot put at 13.87m.<\/p>\n On the track, the women’s 4×100 team made up of\u00a0Kayla Hopkins<\/a>,\u00a0Betina Jean<\/a>,\u00a0Quiaundra Brown<\/a>, and\u00a0Zion Harvey<\/a>\u00a0finished first with a time of 45.63.\u00a0<\/p>\n As for multis, Jamilia Simmons finished first with a SWAC-best finish in the Heptathlon at 4810 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n For the men, it was\u00a0Sha’Nard Walker<\/a>\u00a0with another program record, this time with a first-place finish in the 200m at 20.43m<\/p>\n Jonathan Gaines<\/a>\u00a0topped the 400m leaderboard\u00a0at 48.19, while the 4×400 relay team of\u00a0Ethan Sharpe<\/a>,\u00a0Sha’Nard Walker<\/a>, Jancent, Wallace, and\u00a0Jonathan Gaines<\/a>\u00a0took first with a time of 3:09.65.<\/p>\n Jordan Riche<\/a>\u00a0grabbed a first-place finish at the hammer with\u00a0a 49.74m throw.\u00a0<\/p>\n USF Track & Field Stadium, one of the premier facilities in the Southeast, features a 4,000-seat capacity and a state-of-the-art 400-meter Mondo track\u2014recognized as one of the fastest and most durable surfaces in the world.<\/p>\n The venue meets international standards with expanded lanes and upgraded field event areas, while also offering modern amenities including a press box, concessions, and medical facilities.<\/p>\n The stadium has hosted numerous major events, including conference championships and NCAA competitions, highlighted by the 2018 NCAA East Preliminary.<\/p>\n \nFollow\u00a0Bethune-Cookman\u00a0Cross Country\/Track & Field on Twitter\/X and Instagram (@BCUXCTF) for all of the latest news and updates.
