Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Estero<\/a>). They blew past the Cape Coral Seahawks<\/a> 14-2 on Wednesday. The Wildcats haven’t had any issues with the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.<\/p>\n Evan Goeller<\/a> made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Estero is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise. Goeller was also solid in the batter’s box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he’s now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he’s played.<\/p>\n In other batting news, Estero let Derek Van Roekel<\/a> and Kohler Scott<\/a> run wild. Van Roekel went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Scott went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Van Roekel a new career-high. Trevor Jones<\/a> was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.<\/p>\n Estero kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.<\/p>\n Estero’s victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Cape Coral, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.<\/p>\n Estero and Cape Coral are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will square off against Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cape Coral, they will challenge Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Wave’s pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Seahawks’ hitters will have their work cut out for them.<\/p>\n
