A community association manager for a Miami-Dade condo has been arrested in a fraud scheme involving illegal kickbacks, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Maria Delcarmen Alvarez-Concepcion, 57, was arrested Thursday on charges including accepting kickbacks\/solicitation, organized fraud, and grand theft, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office officials said.<\/p>\n
According to the sheriff’s office and an arrest affidavit, Alvarez-Concepcion had been the building manager for the Greynolds Park Club Condominium on W. Dixie Highway.<\/p>\n
Investigators said a tip was received that a contracted vendor was being forced to pay kickbacks to Alvarez-Concepcion when he provided services at the condo.<\/p>\n
The avoid losing business, the vendor had paid Alvarez-Concepcion around $21,000 in cash or bank transfers, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Alvarez-Concepcion was arrested at the condo community’s parking lot and booked into jail. She was expected to appear in bond court on Friday.<\/p>\n
