Legal battle intensifies between Port St. Lucie and WastePro after record complaints<\/a><\/p>\n“I think that both sides felt this was in the best interest of both organizations to be able to move forward, and for us, it’s a way for us to help to make sure that the city of Port Saint Lucie residents are getting a good outcome,” said city spokesperson Scott Samples.<\/p>\n
The City Council officially approved the motion Friday to accept the settlement terms. The Mayor indicated that city leadership is pleased to put the litigation in the past, noting that he is “happy to come to a resolution” on the matter. The agreement brings an end to a multiple-year case that saw the city challenge the company’s performance and contract compliance during a period of significant service disruptions for local households.<\/p>\n
In terms of where this money will go, Samples said that it will be decided at a later date.<\/p>\n

“At this point, it’s too early to say.
