FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – Country boots meet beachside sandals this weekend as the 2026 Rock the Ocean\u2019s Tortuga Music Festival<\/a> kicked off.<\/p>\n

Music fans flocked to Fort Lauderdale Beach Friday for the start of the weekend long festival.<\/p>\n

Around 20,000 to 30,000 are expected to attend.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all here for the same reason, music, and we love being a part of that whole culture,\u201d said Marsha Kish.<\/p>\n

Attendees like Jeff and Marsha Kish are ready for three days of fun, sun and incredible music.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike Kenny Chesney, Uncle Cracker, oh gosh, again \u2014 I mean, the names are all on the tip of my tongue,\u201d said a woman.<\/p>\n

Artists will perform on one of three stages and if you\u2019re general admission you\u2019ll need to be quick if you want to catch your favorite artists up close.<\/p>\n

These people are ready for a good time, but officials stress they also need to be smart.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really not that hard, you just gotta run,\u201d said a man.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, you just gotta run over a mile, almost, pretty much, but luckily, we have somebody who\u2019s fast,\u201d said George Mav.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s kind of like me. My last name is Dasher, so how can you not get there that fast?\u201d Said the man.<\/p>\n

\u201cSanta Claus is calling his name,\u201d said Mav.<\/p>\n

While there\u2019s no Santa at the beach, revelers will find Post Malone and his fans ready to rock.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m here for Post Malone only. I travel all around the world just to see him,\u201d said a woman.<\/p>\n

Tammy Crocfer is possibly Malone\u2019s biggest fan, and she has her sights set on more than just a good performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy God, I\u2019m losing count how many times I\u2019ve seen him in concert. Yeah, he knows me pretty well as well,\u201d she said. \u201cHe has signed all four of my limbs, so I\u2019ve got autographs all over from him, but looking for another one, hopefully.\u201d<\/p>\n

The festival is more than just music and star sightings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt saves the ocean,\u201d said Marsha.<\/p>\n

The annual festival is a huge part of ocean conservation and focuses on five core conservation issues that impact the world\u2019s oceans.<\/p>\n

And while saving the ocean, organizers remind attendees to save themselves as well yourself \u2014 having fun while remaining safe and smart.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlcohol and sun don\u2019t mix well. Overconsumption can lead to dehydration, poor judgment, medical emergencies. Please take care of yourself,\u201d said Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesperson Frank Guzman.<\/p>\n

Officials posted a video on social media giving Tortuga fans some important reminders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat South Florida heat can hit hard. Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade when you need it,\u201d said officials on the video. \u201cAnd don\u2019t forget your sunscreen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The skies cleared Friday, and there\u2019s a 100% chance of a good time in the forecast.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, my gosh, the weather today looks amazing. It\u2019s a little windy, hair is going to look like beach hair, but don\u2019t care,\u201d said Marsha.<\/p>\n

\u201cSunny in 80s, bring your water, bring your sunscreen,\u201d said Jeff. \u201cIt is just to immerse yourself in the three days and have fun, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Organizers remind those planning to attend Tortuga this weekend that there are no designated parking areas, so they advise taking a Brightline train, using the water taxi or scheduling rideshare services.<\/p>\n
