TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida A&M University is making a hundred statues of Frederick S. Humphries, Sr., Ph.D., to honor his impact and support a scholarship fund, according to a press release.<\/p>\n
The former FAMU President died at 85<\/a> in Orlando in June 2021. He was the third longest-serving FAMU president from 1985 to 2001<\/a>, according to previous reporting. FAMU was named College of the Year and increased enrollment steadily while under his leadership.<\/p>\n The university is now selling 100 miniature statues of Humphries for their annual 1887 Strikes Day of Giving. Each statue is priced at $1,500 and is a \u201cdetailed replica\u201d of the monument on the FAMU campus dedicated to Humpries in October 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n The school said the statues are handcrafted and precise with the \u201cintention of befitting one of Florida A&M University\u2019s most influential leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n Vice President of the Division of University Advancement and Executive Director of the FAMU Foundation, Inc.
