TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Rattlers won\u2019t be playing in the postseason in Quinn Gray\u2019s first year.<\/p>\n
Florida A&M University announced on Friday evening that it received Level Two Academic Progress Rate (APR) penalties from the NCAA for the 2026 football season. <\/p>\n
On top of the postseason ban, the team will incur certain practice restrictions.<\/p>\n
The university says its multi-year APR score fell below the NCAA\u2019s minimum standards. They say they knew the data was trending toward this and hoped a waiver from last season would provide relief, but the conditions of that waiver were not met.<\/p>\n
In a statement, FAMU football Head Coach Quinn Gray said, \u201cEvery player on this roster knows the expectation: you handle your business in the classroom first. We have put the systems in place. Now it is about execution and accountability, every single day. Our job is to build this program the right way \u2014 on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
