Now that the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard is a no-wake zone, the narrower waterway from Oakland Park Boulevard to Commercial Boulevard has become the Wild West.<\/p>\n
Why was just one section of the ICW made no-wake? Was it the work of an effective lobbyist? As soon as northbound boats pass under the Oakland Park Boulevard bridge, they let \u2018er rip!<\/p>\n
It\u2019s extremely congested and dangerous. The difference is dramatic. The new law simply detoured and condensed the speeding into a shorter distance, which is ridiculous. At any given time, there are dozens of jet skis and scores of boats fighting for space to floor it in this no-restrictions zone. It\u2019s an accident waiting to happen.<\/p>\n
A jet ski capsized from all the wakes last Sunday. The rider hung onto his upside-down watercraft for an hour, as speeding boats raced by. The ICW from Sunrise to Commercial should all be no-wake \u2014 and enforced. The ocean is right there, if you have a need for speed.<\/p>\n

President Trump\u2019s Easter message was a disgrace to Christians around the globe.<\/p>\n
Posting the F-word on social media on the most sacred day of the year for Christians is morally unacceptable and should be called out for what it is (something Christian leaders have failed to do).<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s mocking of Islam was also unnecessary \u2014 not just because it was a Christian holiday, but because it unnecessarily could enrage millions, which in turn endangers Americans.<\/p>\n
I have supported many of Trump\u2019s actions as president, and I will continue to support him, not just because we agree on most issues, but because I am a Christian. However, it is for this exact reason that I am extremely disappointed with the president\u2019s Easter message.<\/p>\n

Some letter writers object to Sun Sentinel\u2019s criticism of President Trump and his Cabinet members, with one writer saying she preferred the old days of Walter Cronkite and Huntley and Brinkley.<\/p>\n
Perhaps she and others who sympathize with her don\u2019t realize there\u2019s the news reporting side of a newspaper, which if done correctly, is objective, and there is the opinion side, where editorials and letters to the editor express differing views.<\/p>\n
I wonder if the writer who prefers the nightly TV news from the old days watches today\u2019s news on any of the three broadcast networks.<\/p>\n

Neal Bluestein\u2019s latest letter (April 3) gave me the impetus to tell the other side of the story. If he and the Republicans gleefully accept the gall of Sen. John Fetterman for standing up for our troops, our president and America, then cheer away!<\/p>\n
Bluestein would have us believe that only Republicans support our troops and America, stating that Democrats \u201chate Trump more than they love America.\u201d<\/p>\n
We\u2019re all Americans wanting only for our country to be safe and secure, without infighting, name-calling or violence. Is it too much to ask? Trump\u2019s undying quest to be unquestioningly powerful and vengeful cannot benefit this country \u2014 it benefits only him.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m a registered Democrat, my husband is a registered Republican, and we\u2019ve been blissfully married for a very long time. So it can work, see?<\/p>\n
The commander-in-chief loves chaos, pitting one side against the other. Since when in 250 years has America surrendered democracy to one person, putting aside the law and the Constitution? I have made my case, though it may fall on blind eyes, but I\u2019ll never give up hope for America!<\/p>\n
