TAMPA \u2014 Tampa Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide after a man was found dead Friday afternoon in downtown Tampa.<\/p>\n
Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 2026, officers responded to the 800-block of East Zack Street following a report of an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police identified the suspect as 41-year-old Diego Ponce-Molina. He has been charged with Murder in the First Degree With a Weapon.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, Ponce-Molina was still at the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident. Detectives determined through their investigation that Ponce-Molina approached and assaulted the victim without any apparent interaction or prior confrontation.<\/p>\n
The identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the investigation, police had stated that a person of interest was detained while officers worked to determine their involvement and the circumstances surrounding the death.<\/p>\n
