A program called the \u201cBackground Composting Program<\/a>\u201d will send participating City of Tampa residents a free backyard composting bin. According to City of Tampa, \u201cBeing a part of the solid waste process, individuals will get the chance to learn and start composting as they recycle select organic waste.<\/p>\n

Hillsborough residents can check out the UF IFAS event calendar<\/a> for composting, Florida-friendly landscaping, and many more resources.<\/p>\n

Steps for receiving a free composting bin:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Verify that you are serviced by Tampa Solid Waste<\/a>
\nRegister for the mandatory workshop
\nAttend workshop and follow instructions to obtain compost bin
\nBin delivery (14 days)<\/p>\n

Workshop Dates:<\/p>\n

Friday April 17th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM\u00a0<\/a>
\nWednesday, May 20th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM<\/a>
\nWednesday June 17th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM<\/a><\/p>\n

Note: Completion of Tampa\u2019s mandatory compost workshop is required.<\/a><\/p>\n
