AAA reports the gas average in Florida is $4.01. That\u2019s 18 cents less than last week\u2019s average, but still 30 cents more than it was a month ago. Those prices are even higher if drivers need to fill up on premium or diesel.<\/p>\n

Edwin Curet said he spent $200 filling up his truck on diesel while driving from Panama City to catch a flight in Orlando.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not my only car \u2014 I\u2019ve got two cars more, and it\u2019s expensive now,\u201d Curet said. \u201cEven the flight tickets are so expensive, too, because of gasoline. I know that. But I hope this is over as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Overall, Floridians are paying less for a gallon of gas than other states \u2014 the national average is $4.12, according to AAA, which attributes the recent drop in pump prices to sharp declines in oil and gasoline markets late last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis discount at the pump comes after price drops in both crude oil and gasoline futures last week,\u201d AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said in a statement. \u201cBut it\u2019s unclear how long this downward trend can last.
