Officials tracked down and arrested a suspect in Minnesota after a bomb threat sparked panic at a Tampa assisted living facility.<\/p>\n
TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 A man was arrested in Minnesota for making a bomb threat against a Tampa assisted living facility, the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office says.<\/p>\n
HCSO said a caller reported a bomb threat on Tuesday, April 7 at the Colonnade at Carrollwood in Tampa. Detectives conducted a search throughout the facility and found no explosives in the area.<\/p>\n
Deputies later learned that the caller, 33-year-old Alexander Lufriu, had previously lived in Hillsborough County but later moved to Scott County in Minnesota.<\/p>\n
Lufriu was arrested the following day the call was made by the Prior Lake Police Department, who confirmed with HCSO that his number was associated with the threat.<\/p>\n
He has been charged with making a false report of a bomb, explosive, or weapon of mass destruction and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.<\/p>\n
\u201cThreatening lives and causing panic in our community is unacceptable,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. \u201cWe will track you down, no matter where you are, and hold you accountable.”<\/p>\n
