JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A 20-year-old man was shot near Raines High School on Monday afternoon, the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/a><\/p>\n JSO Commander Jacob Vorpahl said it started as a fight that led to shots fired and 12 people were detained in connection with the shooting.<\/p>\n Action News Jax crews on scene observed some of the people who were detained.<\/p>\n JSO got a call around 2:38 p.m. reporting the fight and the caller reported hearing shots while they were on the phone, Vorpahl said.<\/p>\n When the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived, they found the 20-year-old man had multiple gunshot wounds. JFRD said the man had critical injuries.<\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/a>]<\/p>\n The man is expected to survive his injuries, Vorpahl said.<\/p>\n Action News Jax asked if students could be among those who were detained. Vorpahl said it is too early to tell, but investigators are working to make that determination.<\/p>\n Vorpahl said investigators are also working to determine if the person who shot the man is in custody.<\/p>\n On Tuesday morning, there will be additional patrols at Raines High School.
