{"id":230843,"date":"2026-04-14T06:07:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T06:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/230843\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T06:07:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T06:07:07","slug":"free-rides-from-leetran-on-monday-fort-myers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/230843\/","title":{"rendered":"Free rides from LeeTran on Monday &#8211; FORT MYERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lee County announced that its LeeTran transit system will be offering free rides on all fixed-route buses for Try Transit Day on Monday, April 20.<\/p>\n<p>In an announcement of the free Try Transit Day, county officials said the free bus rides are inspired by Earth Day, which takes place on Wednesday, April 22.<\/p>\n<p>The free bus rides include all buses to Fort Myers Beach. Riders off island can puck up the buses to Fort Myers Beach at the county\u2019s park and ride stations off Summerlin Road and Main Street. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTry Transit Day is designed to introduce residents to the convenience and value of public transportation,\u201d Lee County\u2019s statement said. \u201cBy choosing public transit, riders can save money, reduce traffic, and support a cleaner, more sustainable community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To view a full system map and route schedules, visit www.RideLeeTran.com. The county is also still offering a free LeeTram service which departs from Bowditch Point Regional Park to the Fort Myers Beach Library every 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>LeeTran is the public transit provider for Lee County. LeeTran operates 25 bus routes during season and a paratransit service known as Passport. LeeTran has a fleet of 58 fixed-route vehicles, four beach trams, 60 paratransit vehicles and nine micro-transit vehicles.
