In Eustis, nearly 20&#8243; of rain was reported in one area, according to the National Weather Service. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox35orlando.com\/news\/rainfall-totals-central-florida-heres-how-much-fell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Click here for rainfall totals across Central Florida.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox35orlando.com\/news\/orlando-weather-forecast-flood-watch-central-florida-rain-totals-timeline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">More rain is forecast<\/a> across Central Florida on Monday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Here are live updates on the aftermath, cleanup, and resources:<\/p>\n<p>  Shelters open in Brevard County <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">The American Red Cross of North and Central Florida has opened an emergency shelter in Brevard County as flooding affects Titusville, Cocoa and nearby communities.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">The shelter, operated in coordination with the City of Titusville, is located at First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S. Hopkins Ave. It offers displaced residents a safe place to stay, along with cots, blankets, meals and personal care and health items.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">All Red Cross services are free and available to anyone in need.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;After last night\u2019s storms and today\u2019s continued rain, we are working closely with local government agencies and faith-based organizations to address the needs of residents in our community,&#8221; said Janice Moran, executive director of the American Red Cross Central Florida Coast. &#8220;We are committed to helping Brevard County and providing services for the families impacted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Watch: Full press conference with Lake County, Mount Dora <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Waterman Village \u2013 a lake-side retirement community \u2013 had a storm water breach. This contributed to the destruction of Donnelly Street, which was six to eight inches underwater. The drains on Donnelly Street \u2013 combined with the downtown area \u2013 got overwhelmed, Megan Milanese, Director of Lake County\u2019s Emergency Management, said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;All of the downtown Mount Dora businesses are being affected,&#8221; Milanese said. &#8220;We are working with our business partners, and again state partners, to make sure that we are assisting those businesses to the best of our capabilities.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Waterman Village, with two 40-foot ravines, Mount Dora Mayor James Homich said, were destroyed. Close to 20 homes were evacuated, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;There are currently a number of homeowners that aren\u2019t able to return to their homes safely until we get the bank stabilized that\u2019s five feet behind their houses,&#8221; Homich said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/6112FA30C9A7C411BF2A3A93DA238743.jpg\" alt=\"Lake County flash flooding update: Full news conference\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\"\/>   Florida Rep. He said the federal government would help those impacted by the rains, despite the government shutdown.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;I want people to know we are committed to working with Lake County, with the city of Mount Dora, the city of Eustis to make sure that they \u2013 once the government reopens, if the Democrats ever choose to reopen it \u2013 have the resources they need to respond to this disaster.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/17D359FC138EF555F75F06AE69D52591.jpg\" alt=\"Rep. Randy Fine slams Democrats while talking Florida flooding\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\"\/>   Lake County, Mount Dora updates <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Lake County and Mount Dora officials provided an update on the impacts from Sunday&#8217;s flooding.<\/p>\n<p> There were no injuries or deaths due to the flooding reported in Lake County.Mount Dora&#8217;s Fire Chief said there were several rescues Sunday night at the peak of the flooding, including on Donnelly Street, which washed out.Officials said Donnelly Street is expected to be closed for a while, but reminded people that Mount Dora is &#8220;open for business.  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/C6BD0D11339CADC8683DED8714DB42D8.jpg\" alt=\"Lake County Emergency Management update on flooding\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\"\/>   <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Storm water systems were overwhelmed, Milanese said \u2013 causing road erosion and washout.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Additionally, Wolf Branch, which was also damaged from Hurricane Milton, saw damage. Milanese did not give a timeline for when repairs would be complete on Wolf Branch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  Infrastructure damage <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Waste water, reclaimed water and drinking water systems were all damaged, Milanese said. The county is working to make sure the water is safe again, she said. Drinking water services were restored, but a water boil order remains in effect.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Reclaimed water remains limited, she said, but added that significant repair time is needed due to shortages and damaged systems.<\/p>\n<p> Eustis road closures <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Several Eustis roads are closed due to flooded areas, including:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Hazzard Ave., closed from Prescott to MaryPrescott St., closed from Gottsche to HazzardMorningside Dr., closed at the three-way intersectionMarietta Ln., closed at the end of the cul-de-sac <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">The following roads have reopened. Sand bag sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., but may close earlier if weather gets bad. FOX 35 talks with Lake County Emergency Management about damage in the area.<\/p>\n<p> Brevard County damage, road closures <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Early Monday morning, Brevard County emailed an update on the flooding situation in its county. There was widespread reports of flooding and toppled trees in Cocoa, Titusville, and Indialantic, officials said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8211; Most streets remain open. Legay Street closed and impassable.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8211; Indian River Drive open to local traffic. One lane open. One lane closed.<\/p>\n<p> \u00a0Red Cross Disaster Action Team <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Red Cross volunteers are working to access the damage and provide assistance to those impacted by the flooding, a spokesperson told FOX 35.
