Lee County is recognizing April 12-18 as \u201cNational Public Safety Telecommunicators Week\u201d and celebrating the professionals who safeguard the health, safety and well-being of the community.<\/p>\n
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is organized nationally by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International. It was officially recognized by Congress in 1991 to honor dispatchers and emergency personnel. This year\u2019s event features the theme \u201cAnswering Together.\u201d<\/p>\n
As part of it, Lee County Public Safety\u2019s social media platforms will feature updates about call takers and dispatchers, as well as other department staff. In addition daily themes are a part of the event.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Total Stork Awards (babies delivered over the phone): Three<\/p>\n
\u2013 Telephone CPR instruction initiated: 578<\/p>\n
\u2013 Total fire events dispatched: 30,583<\/p>\n
