It’s playoff time, and Fort Myers<\/a> had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Cape Coral Seahawks<\/a> with a sharp 17-2 victory on Monday. The Green Wave’s hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they’ve scored all season.<\/p>\n Adler Cervio<\/a> spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.<\/p>\n On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex D’Altrui<\/a>, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That’s the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Sam O’Brien<\/a> also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.<\/p>\n Fort Myers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cape Coral only posted an OBP of .421.<\/p>\n The win (which was Fort Myers’ third in a row) raised their record to 14-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Cape Coral, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.<\/p>\n Fort Myers will venture away from home to face off against Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave’s pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tritons have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. Cape Coral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.<\/p>\n
