The wait is finally over \u2013 Jaycee Park is officially opening to the public on Thursday, April 30, for the community to enjoy after an $18.7 million rebuild commenced in early 2025.<\/p>\n

A ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is open to the public with no reservations required, will celebrate the newly improved park at the end of Beach Parkway at 10 a.m., Friday, May 8.<\/p>\n

The renovation addressed aging facilities, invasive trees, as well as parking and pedestrian challenges, city officials said.<\/p>\n

The wholly rebuilt park now includes waterfront enhancements, playground revitalization, new picnic and gathering areas, family-friendly amenities, pathway improvement, landscape and green space and parking and accessibility upgrades.<\/p>\n

Park-goers can now enjoy the new lighted riverfront boardwalk and overlook, upgraded pathways with cooling misters, native landscaping, improved accessibility, large inclusive playground, adult changing stations, a 5,000- square-foot splash pad, shaded picnic areas, bandshell for performances, cornhole, pool and shuffleboard tables, and beach volleyball courts.<\/p>\n

The playground features 40 inclusive elements. There is\u00a0 5,000 square feet of interactive play areas with shade sails providing coverage from the sun.<\/p>\n

The public also will soon be able to enjoy a dedicated food truck court offering food and beverages.<\/p>\n

The Kearns Group was the only party to submit a proposal for management and operation of the planned concession area and food truck court at Jaycee Park.<\/p>\n

According to the term sheet the concession area and food truck court will include a 1,100-square-foot building and six food trucks pads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The concession area also includes \u201ctwo game areas, two cornhole lanes, and two pool tables.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n

A smaller bandshell\/pavilion is also included by onsite entertainment.<\/p>\n
