\n\t\t\t\t\t\t Cape Coral is conducting a citywide study to evaluate the feasibility of roundabouts at 10 intersections following the approval of its Multimodal Transportation Master Plan on March 14, 2024. The plan directs staff to assess intersections for roundabout treatments to enhance safety, resiliency and operational performance across the city. On April 2, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution No. 101-25, authorizing a Local Agency Program agreement between the city and the Florida Department of Transportation.RC Smith, a Cape Coral resident, suggested additional roundabouts in northern Cape Coral could be beneficial. “Near Kismet and way up. It’s like a racetrack up there. So, I think the roundabouts up there would be a really good idea. Plus, some of the intersections that don’t have a light, they just have stop signs. Those are brutal up there. I think a lot of accidents happen up in that area,\u201d he said.David Russell, another Cape Coral resident, shared his perspective on the city\u2019s roundabout plans. \u201cWell, I think if they’re placed in the proper locations, phased in. If they’re looking at Cape Coral Parkway, spread them out a little bit and see how they work before they get too far carried away,\u201d Russell said.Russell expressed concerns about construction impacts. \u201cThe construction is going to be the problem. What happens with traffic when we’re doing that?
