TAMPA, FL \u2014 Two workers were seriously injured after an SUV slammed into a construction truck in an active work zone on State Road 574 in the Tampa area early Wednesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The GMC Yukon, driven by a 37-year-old Tampa man, was heading west on the highway, when he drove into the work zone, west of Bismarck Palm Drive, around 3:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
The SUV overtook and crashed into the Ford-$-550 construction truck, which had its caution lights activated, troopers said. <\/p>\n
The workers, a 20-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both of Bradenton, were brought to an area hospital with serious injuries. <\/p>\n
