{"id":233274,"date":"2026-04-15T21:09:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T21:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/233274\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T21:09:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T21:09:32","slug":"waymo-opens-rides-to-everyone-in-orlando-and-miami","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/233274\/","title":{"rendered":"Waymo opens rides to everyone in Orlando and Miami"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014\u00a0Waymo, a\u00a0driverless rideshare service, is now open to everyone in Orlando and Miami.<\/p>\n<p>What You Need To Know<\/p>\n<p>Waymo is now open to everyone in both Miami and Orlando via the Waymo app<br \/>\n<br \/>In Orlando, the service connects neighborhoods like\u00a0Parramore, Richmond Heights, Williamsburg, Florida Center and Southwest Orlando<br \/>\n<br \/>Those in Miami can opt-in to early access to trips using highways, which is not currently available in Orlando\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The service\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mynews13.com\/fl\/orlando\/news\/2026\/02\/24\/driverless-ride-hailing-service-makes-its-debut-in-orlando\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">first launched in February<\/a> after more than six months of testing to a limited amount of people.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Waymo says its seen more than 150,000 riders in both Orlando and Miami.<\/p>\n<p>In Orlando, Waymo connects neighborhoods like Parramore, Richmond Heights, Williamsburg, Florida Center and Southwest Orlando.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/waymo_debut_service_map_orlando_n13_022426.jpeg\" alt=\"This map shows Waymo's service area in the Orlando area. (Courtesy of Waymo)<\/p>\n<p>Waymo vehicles in Orlando currently do not operate on freeways, and that means no Interstate 4 and no access to the airport, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicles also do not currently travel on the east side of I-4 in downtown Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Miami, highway access is rolling out with the launch to all residents and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whether you&#8217;re commuting from Coral Gables to Wynwood or heading to Miami Beach, highway driving can allow for faster routes across the city,&#8221; Waymo said in a blog post on Wednesday. &#8220;To be among the first to have access to highways in Miami, let us know directly in the app.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Those who want to take a ride must <a href=\"https:\/\/waymo.com\/rides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">download the Waymo app<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014\u00a0Waymo, a\u00a0driverless rideshare service, is now open to everyone in Orlando and Miami.
