Delivered earlier this month, the 1,056-foot Norwegian Luna has a double occupancy of 3,565 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Among the ship\u2019s unique features are the Aqua Slidecoaster, the longest and fastest slides at sea, and the new Luna Midway, an amusement park-style outdoor area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFriday\u2019s milestone underscores PortMiami\u2019s enduring partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., a company with deep roots in Miami,\u201d said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. \u201cAs a hometown cruise leader, Norwegian\u2019s continued investment reflects a shared commitment to innovation, economic growth, and exceptional guest experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe arrival of Norwegian Luna further reinforces PortMiami\u2019s role as a global cruise hub and a proud partner to one of the industry\u2019s most established brands,\u201d Mayor Levine Cava added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly proud to welcome Norwegian Luna to PortMiami, the \u2018Cruise Capital of the World,\u2019 and to continue our long standing partnership with Miami, our hometown and a city that has played such an important role in our company\u2019s history for nearly 60 years,\u201d said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. \u201cMiami is a vibrant gateway to unforgettable vacations, and launching our newest ship here reflects our shared commitment to delivering world class experiences for guests sailing from this iconic destination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Norwegian Luna will sail a series of three- and four-day Bahamas voyages as well as seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries to some of the region\u2019s most celebrated beach destinations. From April through October 2026, itineraries will include calls to ports such as Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL\u2019s private island paradise in the Bahamas. Beginning November 2026, Norwegian Luna will transition to Western Caribbean itineraries, visiting Roat\u00e1n (Islas de la Bah\u00eda), Honduras; Cozumel, Mexico, and Harvest Caye, NCL\u2019s private resort-style destination off the coast of Belize.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate Norwegian Luna\u2019s arrival, Port representatives joined Captain Robert Lundberg and NCL senior leadership for a traditional maritime plaque exchange followed by the official ship christening ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPortMiami and NCL have a storied history and strong partnership.
