Some bands never really leave you, especially if you were there for it.<\/p>\n
The Goods is one of those bands. Formed in 1989 by brothers Jim and John Camacho, the Miami-based group came up through the South Florida club scene at a time when live music felt immediate and personal.<\/p>\n
They built their following face to face with audiences, show by show, becoming known for performances that were as tight as they were unpredictable, and for songs that stuck with you long after the night ended.<\/p>\n
Throughout the 1990s, The Goods released a string of records that captured different sides of the band, from the cult favorite 5 Steps to Getting Signed to the more expansive Mint, and later Good Things Are Coming, released on Blackheart Records and produced by Tom Dowd, whose work with Rod Stewart, The Eagles, Bee Gees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aretha Franklin, and the Allman Brothers, among others, helped define an era of American music.<\/p>\n
They shared stages with an unusually wide mix of artists including Pearl Jam, The Smithereens, KC & the Sunshine Band, and Cher. It wasn\u2019t about fitting into one lane. The Goods never really did. By the end of that run, they had become one of Miami\u2019s most loved homegrown bands, the kind people still talk about years later like they just saw them last weekend.<\/p>\n
Now, their story returns to the forefront. Love Will Come to You, a new documentary currently in its final stages of completion, revisits the band\u2019s rise, music, and lasting influence. Drawing from archival footage, personal histories, and a deep catalog of recordings, the film offers a long-overdue portrait of a band whose impact has quietly endured.<\/p>\n
In tandem with the film, previously unheard recordings and archival material from The Goods\u2019 catalog are being compiled for release on Think Like A Key Records \u2013 opening a new chapter for longtime fans and first-time listeners alike. But before the film reaches audiences, The Goods will return to the stage.<\/p>\n
For one night only, the band members will reunite for their first live performance in more than 20 years (briefly reuniting 15 years ago to perform one show as a tribute to the passing of Jim and John Camacho\u2019s mother) on Saturday, Apr. 25, at the Mandelstam Theater in South Miami.<\/p>\n
The evening will include a special sneak preview of Love Will Come to You, offering audiences an early glimpse into the documentary before the band takes the stage. Tickets begin at $25 and are available at www.thegoodslive.com<\/p>\n
For the members, the reunion feels less like a comeback and more like a continuation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe moment we got together again in the same room that muscle memory kicked in and it was like we\u2019d never stopped playing together. I can\u2019t wait for us to get in front of an audience again. That\u2019s where we belong,\u201d Jim Camacho said.<\/p>\n

More than two decades later, the chemistry remains \u2013 intact, immediate, and ready to be felt again in a live setting. At the center of it all are Jim Camacho (vocals\/bass), John Camacho (vocals\/piano), Tony Oms (guitar\/vocals), and Kasmir Kujawa (drums\/vocals), four distinct voices that, together, have always made up The Goods.<\/p>\n
