(CBS12)  \u2014 Fort Pierce police made a shocking discovery while searching a home, finding five bins each containing a dead dog.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityoffortpierce.com\/1186\/Police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fort Pierce Police Department<\/a>, at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, officers assisted Animal Control after receiving a suspicious inquiry about cremating dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to a home on Georgia Avenue, where, in addition to the dead dogs, they found nine cats and two live dogs inside. Dodson now faces a charge of obstructing an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Officers said that, based on the condition of the home and animals, as well as evidence collected at the scene, they arrested a second suspect, Thalia Flores, on six counts of<a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/topic\/Animal%20abuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> animal cruelty.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The investigation remains active and ongoing, the police department said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FORT PIERCE, Fla.
