TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Thursday marked a huge moment for the Robinson brothers. The Florida High grads are set to become Florida State Seminoles.<\/p>\n
As of Thursday morning, Anthony, who\u2019s spent the last three years at Missouri, and his younger brother Amare, who played at Tallahassee State last year, committed to play at Florida State.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs first, I didn\u2019t even know how to react to be honest,\u201d Anthony said. \u201cBut we just froze through a little minute, looked at each other through the screen and was like, is this for real?\u201d<\/p>\n
Anthony entered the portal last week and received interest from several big programs. But, he said, when the opportunity presented itself in Tallahassee, it was a no-brainer to come home.<\/p>\n
He said he wanted to be a part of what Head Coach Luke Loucks is building at Florida State, and when Amare was offered too? That took away any doubt.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was there on Zoom supporting my brother, like always. I was starstruck in the moment, I can\u2019t lie to you. I was just grateful for the opportunity,\u201d Amare said. <\/p>\n
Amare helped lead TSC to a top ten national ranking this season, and he said he\u2019s ready to rejoin his brother and represent their hometown in garnet and gold together.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we first came to the gym on the visit, my parents started tearing up a little bit,\u201d Anthony said. \u201cI don\u2019t know if they want me to put that out there, but they started tearing up a little bit. Just seeing me and my brother with the jersey on just really meant a lot to them.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cWe talked about it, and now we have a chance to live it. Just want to make the best of it, spend our last year together. It\u2019s been a long time since we\u2019ve been together for a full year, so I\u2019m happy. Of course I\u2019m happy,\u201d Amare said. <\/p>\n
\u201cJust bringing the tradition of Florida State basketball back to where it should be, just being a part of that, really couldn\u2019t turn it down, especially being from Tallahassee,\u201d Anthony said. <\/p>\n
