HOLLYWOOD, Fla. \u2014 There\u2019s always something adventurous happening on weekends at beautiful Hollywood Beach.<\/p>\n
So get ready for the Savor SoFlo and Wine Festival, returning for its sixth year.<\/p>\n
It brings a vibrant culinary experience to the beach, taking over 30,000 square feet of tented space right on the sand.<\/p>\n
The festival highlights local chefs and restaurants such as Margaritaville, which will compete in the festival\u2019s culinary showdown.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re winning. We\u2019re Margaritaville. We\u2019re always winning,\u201d executive chef Kedon Carter told Local 10\u2019s Alexis Frazier.<\/p>\n
There will be wine, craft beers and premium spirits to wash down the food.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor Margaritaville, it\u2019s those laid-back tropical vibes, and it ties in well with all the food, wine and tropical dishes that will be featured from local restaurants here in Hollywood,\u201d Margaritaville Marketing Director Cara Mia Gatti said.<\/p>\n
Proceeds from Savor SoFlo will benefit Glam-A-Thon and Gilda\u2019s Club South Florida, which support breast cancer patients with mental health and wellness resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal has been to educate and teach people how to love food and view it as an art form. When you grow to appreciate that, you see food in a completely different way,\u201d Savor President and Producer Tammy Gail said.<\/p>\n
The event is Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., and tickets can be purchased on-site or in advance.<\/p>\n
