ST. PETERSBURG, FL \u2014 The first retail tenant at downtown St. Petersburg\u2019s Residences at 400 Central luxury condo tower, the tallest building in the city, broke ground on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
The 2,000-square-foot Volta Wine + Market, a boutique wine bar and specialty food market, will open on the building\u2019s ground floor by the end of the year, St. Pete Catalyst reported.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cOfficially started construction!! We were floored by the turnout to commemorate this milestone,\u201d Volta wrote in a social media post<\/a>. \u201c It truly takes a village to get us over each mountain. Onward!\u201d<\/p>\n Mayor Ken Welch wrote in a post after the groundbreaking, \u201cNothing says St. Pete like a new local business bringing people together on Central Ave.\u201d<\/p>\n The shop will offer more than 300 wines, \u201cfrom everyday staples to cellar classics \u2014 curated by hospitality experts,\u201d the Residences at 400 Central wrote in a social media post. <\/p>\n The market will also offer \u201cquality, clean-ingredient grocery for weekly shopping \u2014 olive oil, pasta, frozen foods, the things you\u2019ll actually reach for,\u201d as well as \u201ca vibey bar to gather, linger, and socialize \u2014 with vinyl spinning in the background,\u201d the post said, adding, \u201cVolta makes wine and food part of your everyday rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n Volta\u2019s founders, Zach Pace and Rachelle Tomushev, signed a lease<\/a> with the Red Apple Group, the New York-based developer behind the residential building, last summer, reports said.<\/p>\n See Also: <\/p>\n
