Miami has held on to WR Ah’Mari Stevens for more than a year, but the Hurricanes are now in a recruiting fight<\/a>. The four-star wide receiver commit from Chaminade-Madonna took an official visit to LSU this week, and the signs around his recruitment suggest this is something to watch.<\/p>\n

#LSU<\/a> hosted Miami Hurricanes commit Ah\u2019Mari Stevens on a visit to Baton Rouge this week.<\/p>\n

Stevens checks in as a Top-50 wide receiver in America with Lane Kiffin and Co. turning up the heat this offseason.<\/p>\n

Stevens was the first player to commit to Miami’s 2027 class, and WR coach Kevin Beard made him a priority early and closed that recruitment more than a year ago. Stevens is a South Florida player at Chaminade-Madonna, so Miami will want to lock this down and keep him home.<\/p>\n

On3’s industry ranking currently lists Stevens as the No. 245 overall prospect, the No. 31 wide receiver and the No. 25 player in Florida. 247Sports is a little higher on him at No. 36 among receivers nationally, while ESPN slots him 41st at the position.<\/p>\n

Stevens still has an official visit to Coral Gables set for May 29. Georgia is scheduled for June 5 and Texas for June 19.<\/p>\n

Stevens logged 23 catches for 312 yards, 544 all-purpose yards and two total touchdowns in nine varsity games last season, even in a loaded Chaminade-Madonna offense where touches were spread around.<\/p>\n

If Miami loses him, it would be the second commit to move on in the class. Miami’s 2027 class took a hit on Friday when offensive tackle Zaquan Linton and Miami mutually agreed to part ways, ending a commitment that dated back to last July. Linton was one of the earliest commitments in the class.<\/p>\n

The On3 industry rankings have him at No. 74 among offensive tackles and No. 118 in Florida, while the 247Sports Composite has him No. 91 among offensive tackles and as the No. 128 player in Florida.<\/p>\n
