TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee Memorial Hospital has launched a TMH Legacy series and for its inaugural designation, they honored the late Eddie Lee Haugabrook for his lasting impact, according to a press release.<\/p>\n
The new TMH legacy program was created to display long-term colleagues who have made an impact on the hospital and community, per TMH.<\/p>\n
Haugabrook is a former Vice President of Human Resources and the first Black administrator at the local hospital. TMH said in a press release that Haugabrook helped transition the Florida A&M University Hospital to TMH as the HBCU\u2019s hospital\u2019s future seemed uncertain.<\/p>\n
The former administrator ensured Black healthcare staff and patients were welcomed, per a release. He reportedly worked at the hospital for 35 years and \u201chelped build the people-first culture that continues at TMH today.\u201d<\/p>\n
TMH held a Legacy program reception for Haugabrook on Friday at 1 p.m. Haugabrook\u2019s family was at the reception and reflected on him, saying he was a positive figure.<\/p>\n

CEO of TMH Mark O\u2019Bryant said in the press release that there was no one more deserving. <\/p>\n
\u201cDuring his 35 years of service, Eddie led in several roles here at TMH that shaped our values and culture. We are honored to have had him as a colleague and friend to so many during his tenure.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the release, Haugabrook was also a Director of Purchasing and Vice President of Materials Management. He was also a veteran and member of First Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, per a release.<\/p>\n
The plaque recognizing his impact is being displayed in the main hallway inside TMH near the Gift Shop.<\/p>\n
