{"id":236524,"date":"2026-04-18T03:49:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T03:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/236524\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T03:49:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T03:49:11","slug":"softball-falls-to-no-10-florida-state-8-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/236524\/","title":{"rendered":"Softball Falls To No. 10 Florida State, 8-4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2013 Carolina softball fell 8-4 to No. 10 Florida State on Friday night.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe game saw <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/emily-legette\/28050\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28050\" target=\"_blank\">Emily LeGette<\/a> move into a tie for second most RBI in a single season in program history. <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/sanaa-thompson\/28060\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28060\" target=\"_blank\">Sanaa Thompson<\/a> extended her on-base streak to 28 games and <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexie-roberts\/28058\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28058\" target=\"_blank\">Lexie Roberts<\/a> kept pace extending her streak to 25 games.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe damage was done in the first inning with Florida State plating five runs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Tar Heels would fight back, getting two runs back with a Roberts triple and an <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/emily-legette\/28050\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28050\" target=\"_blank\">Emily LeGette<\/a> sacrifice fly.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/sanaa-thompson\/28060\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28060\" target=\"_blank\">Sanaa Thompson<\/a> tacked on two more in the seventh but that would be all the Tar Heels could push across.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/jil-livengood\/28051\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"28051\" target=\"_blank\">Jil Livengood<\/a> was outstanding out of the bullpen, throwing 5.2 innings only allowing two earned runs.
