<\/p>\nTAMPA, Fla. \u2014 The Tampa Police Department (TPD) said two teenagers were arrested in connection with a shooting investigation after two other teenagers were injured on Thursday.<\/p>\n
TPD received an initial report that someone had been shot in the 3600 block of Machado Street at around 1:40 p.m. on April 16.<\/p>\n
Police said they received an update that there was a second victim injured as they were making their way to the scene.<\/p>\n
TPD said the officer found two males, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old, with gunshot wounds. Police officers provided first aid to the males until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and transported them to a local hospital.<\/p>\n
The injuries were not fatal, per TPD.<\/p>\n
According to police, while initial reports suggested three suspects may have been involved, investigators positively identified two male suspects, 18-year-old Jaquez Lawson and a 17-year-old boy, as the shooters.<\/p>\n
The report said the shooting was a targeted confrontation and both suspects were taken into custody as they were leaving a residence in Manatee County on April 17. Two firearms were recovered at the residence and taken into evidence, per police.<\/p>\n
Police said Lawson was charged with attempted murder, and the 17-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder and minor in possesion of a firearm.<\/p>\n
Both suspects were taken to a Manatee County jail pending transport back to Hillsborough County, per the report.<\/p>\n
