TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Suwannee River Water Management District has modified its current water restrictions during the continued drought. <\/p>\n
At Tuesday\u2019s board meeting, additional restrictions were added to the current Phase II restrictions<\/a> that were put in place in March.<\/p>\n The Modified Phase II Water Shortage Order continues to request residents voluntarily conserve water and expands mandatory regulatory measures, SRWMD said.<\/p>\n Irrigation for new lawns and landscaping projects, including turf, shrubs and trees, must now be limited to two days a week. The reuse of reclaimed water for irrigation and hand watering will not be restricted.<\/p>\n The order maintains a one-day a week landscape irrigation schedule for established lawns on the following schedule:<\/p>\n Saturday for odd-numbered addresses or no address,Sunday for even-numbered addresses, andTuesday for non-residential properties.Irrigation shall not occur between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m<\/p>\n More news out of the Big Bend: <\/p>\n Overhead irrigation by high pressure systems is not allowed between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Watering for heat stress of nursery stock is limited to no more than 10 minutes per hour. <\/p>\n Irrigation of golf course greens and tees should now be reduced to \u201cthe greatest extent possible\u201d and should be done during non-daylight hours. Irrigation of fairways on the front nine holes is restricted except after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It must be completed before 7:00 a.m. the following day. <\/p>\n Fairways on the back nine holes can be watered after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and must be completed before 7:00 a.m. the following day. Reuse of reclaimed water won\u2019t be restricted.<\/p>\n SRWMD also said water line flushing and disinfection will be limited to the minimum requirements.<\/p>\n For a full list of mandatory restrictions, click here.<\/a><\/p>\n The SRWMD includes Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayatte, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor and Union Counties.
