But as he tells the story, things started out fine, but got far more blurry as the weekend went along.<\/p>\n “The first night we went to a spot called Chubby’s. The next place we went to the next night, I don’t remember the place,” Russell added. “The next I remember is they had to take me to the car. This is my first time speaking about it. I can’t remember nothing.”<\/p>\n He didn’t mention who hosted him on the visit. It was in 2003, so you can look up the roster if you want and make some educated guesses. Chubby’s was a nightclub on Tennessee Street<\/a> and from the video, it looks like he was pretty live back in the day. Russell doesn’t mention the place that he was at the following night, but he likely doesn’t remember the name since he didn’t remember anything else.<\/p>\n Was this the reason that the bulky gunslinger from Mobile, Alabama chose the Tigers? Who knows. At the time FSU was definitely in the hunt for a big-time QB prospect as Chris Rix was heading into his redshirt junior year and Adrian McPherson had been kicked off the team.
