TALLAHASSEE – The No. 12 Florida State softball team (37-7, 13-3) got back on track with a 8-4 win over North Carolina (31-12, 9-10) on Friday night.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nJazzy Francik<\/a> got the start against a one of the nation’s top offenses that ranked in the top 10 in\u00a0 most major offensive categories and was phenomenal as the sophomore allowed just two runs on two hits in six innings while striking out seven.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nThe Noles’ offense jumped all over the Tar Heels in the first inning as Isa Torres<\/a> led off with a single. Jaysoni Beachum<\/a> was hit by a pitch, and Ashtyn Danley<\/a> walked to load the bases for Anna Hinde<\/a> who scored Torres on a sacrifice fly. Bella Ruggiero<\/a> singled to center to bring in another run, and Kennedy Harp<\/a> launched her fifth home run on the first pitch she saw to put the Noles up 5-0.

\nTorres got back to work in the second as she hit her sixth triple of the season and came home on a sacrifice fly from Beachum.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nAfter a scoreless third inning, the Tar Heels scored two runs on one hit, but the Noles responded in the bottom of the fourth as Marin Heller<\/a> hit her second home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning.\u00a0

\nThe Noles added another run in the fifth as Anna Hinde<\/a> reached on an error. Ruggiero doubled to right field, and Harp picked up her fourth RBI of the game with a sac fly.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nUNC scored two in the top of the seventh, but Ashtyn Danley<\/a> came in and was able to get the final out to secure the win.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nThe Noles will be back in action at 3 p.m. tomorrow on the ACC Network.

\n\tIsa Torres<\/a> went 2-for-4 for her 22nd multi-hit game of the season. Isa still leads the country with a .581 batting average.\u00a0
\n\tJaysoni Beachum<\/a> went 1-for-2 today and has now reached base safely in 32 consecutive games which is tied for the fifth-longest streak in FSU history.
\n\tBeachum picked up her 162nd career RBI which moved her to eighth all-time in FSU history.\u00a0
\n\tBella Ruggiero<\/a> drove in a run in the top of the first to put the Noles up 2-0 and has now recorded a RBI in her last four games.
\n\tKennedy Harp<\/a> had a career high four RBI tonight.\u00a0
\n\tJazzy Francik<\/a> pitched six innings and earned her 16th win of the season. Francik’s six innings was her longest outing since going 6.1 innings against Rutgers on Feb. 28.
\n\tFrancik’s seven strikeouts was one off her season high. Francik struck out eight against Marshall on Feb. 7
\n\tFSU scored five runs in the first inning and has now outscored its opponents 60-19 in the first inning. FSU improved to 21-2 when it scores in the first inning.
\n\tFSU has won 23 out of the last 26 meetings against the Tar Heels.\u00a0
