JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Jacksonville Baseball walked it off in the 10th inning Sunday afternoon, defeating West Georgia, 9-8, to complete the three-game sweep at John Sessions Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With the game tied in extra innings, Abdriel Delgado<\/a> opened the bottom of the 10th with a single before Archer Ogbourne<\/a> entered as a pinch runner. Two batters later, Logan Baratta<\/a> delivered the game-winner, ripping an RBI double off the\u00a0left-center wall to bring home the winning run.<\/p>\n Jacksonville’s offense produced throughout the afternoon, racking up a season-high 17 hits, with all nine starters recording a hit in the victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n How It Happened
West Georgia struck first, scoring two runs in the opening inning on a home run before adding two more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. For the third time in as many days, the Dolphins found themselves trailing early.<\/p>\n Jacksonville answered in the bottom of the second, as Griffin Pomper<\/a> ripped an RBI double to get the Dolphins on the board. The Wolves continued to apply pressure, however, adding a run in the third and extending the lead to 7-2 in the fourth following a two-run homer.<\/p>\n The Dolphins began to chip away in the fifth, stringing together disciplined at-bats to cut into the deficit. Jacksonville loaded the bases before Abdriel Delgado<\/a> drove in a run with a single. Griffin Pomper<\/a> followed with an RBI walk, and Cade Walter<\/a> worked another bases-loaded walk to bring the Dolphins within two at 7-5. The free pass marked Walter’s first of three on the day, pushing his team-leading season total to 29.<\/p>\n Jacksonville carried that momentum into the sixth. After Derek Bermudez<\/a> reached and Sam Grunberg<\/a> was hit by a pitch to put two on, Delgado delivered again, lining a two-run double down the right field line to tie the game at 7-7. Logan Baratta<\/a> followed with an RBI single up the middle, giving the Dolphins their first lead of the afternoon at 8-7.<\/p>\n West Georgia responded in the eighth with a solo home run to even the score at 8-8, setting up a tense finish.<\/p>\n The Dolphins’ bullpen held firm down the stretch, working out of trouble in the ninth and keeping the Wolves off the board in the 10th.
