Pasco County officials responded to a plane crash early Sunday morning in Land O’ Lakes.<\/p>\n
LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. \u2014 At least one person is dead following a plane crash early Sunday morning in Pasco County.<\/p>\n
Pasco County Fire Rescue says this happened in the area of Aldus Drive at the Grand Oaks neighborhood in Land O’ Lakes.<\/p>\n
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) say that a Cessna C402 aircraft crashed into the yard around 8:30 a.m. into a home’s yard.<\/p>\n
The FAA confirms only the pilot was on board, and they had departed from Tampa North Aero Park.<\/p>\n
Officials confirmed that fire caused by the crash has been extinguished, and a home received some damage.<\/p>\n
Footage from Christina Galbiati, a neighbor in the area, shaed ring camera footage showing smoke coming from the home following the crash.<\/p>\n
Galbiati tells 10 Tampa Bay News that she first saw the plane flying fine until she noticed it getting closer to the neighbor’s yard.<\/p>\n
\u00a0“My kids were in the back screaming,” she said. “I was very taken aback, very tragic.”<\/p>\n
PCFR confirmed one person died following the crash.<\/p>\n
The FAA and the NTSB are leading the investigation.<\/p>\n
