Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\nTheir 30-year-old father, Eury Colon, is now facing two felony charges.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report, Hialeah Gardens police were sent to Northwest 111th Terrace at around 9:30 p.m. regarding a \u201cloud barking dog.\u201d<\/p>\n
The report states that the officer heard the dog and knocked on the door of the home for five minutes in an attempt to speak with someone.<\/p>\n
\u201cI then noticed a window located to the far right on the front residence with the bedroom lights on and made several knocks,\u201d the officer wrote. \u201cAfter several knocks, a toddler opened the blinds. I observed the toddler nude, as well as a room full of used Pampers (diapers) covered in feces.\u201d<\/p>\n
Colon drove up a short time later and claimed that the children\u2019s mother was inside sleeping, but went into the home \u201cand attempted to shut the door,\u201d the report stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cI informed Eury that for the safety of the children, he needs to keep the door open so I can have a visual of (them), because of the fact that the children appeared to be alone and at this time this had become a police investigation,\u201d the officer wrote.<\/p>\n
Police said Colon made a statement, which was redacted from the report, that led the officer to handcuff him.<\/p>\n
Under \u201cexigent circumstances,\u201d the officer then went inside to find the toddler, police said.<\/p>\n
The officer found \u201cthe toddler with feces on his left leg as well as a room full of used Pampers full of feces,\u201d and, in another bedroom, a baby, the report states. <\/p>\n
\u201cI then canvassed the residence and found (it) in a disheveled state,\u201d the officer wrote. \u201cI found multiple opened containers of food lying around the house. I also observed feces all over the residence floor, as well as roaches all over the residence and the children\u2019s rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said they contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families. They said a DCF investigator arrived soon after and \u201cdeemed the living conditions hazardous,\u201d leading the agency to remove the children from the home.<\/p>\n
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics took the children to Palmetto General Hospital for evaluation and police took Colon into custody on two child neglect charges.<\/p>\n
Colon was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday afternoon, with a bond listed as \u201cto be set\u201d in online jail records.<\/p>\n
