The city issued a permit April 17 for Axionlog\u2019s proposed North Jacksonville expansion at a project cost of almost $7.59 million.<\/p>\n

Plans show the Argentina-based logistics company wants to add 59,336 square feet of freezer, cool dock, office and associated space to the existing 38,375-square-foot project, creating a 97,711-square-foot project on 44.74 acres at 11370 New Berlin Road in North Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

The city permit for Axionlog is for a project to add 58,661 square feet of the proposal.<\/p>\n

V. Paulius & Associates of Allendale, New Jersey, was the contractor for the initial project and is listed as the contractor for the expansion.<\/p>\n

The city issued a site-clearing permit Dec. 2 for the expansion at a project cost of $575,000, followed by a foundation permit Jan. 27 at $75,000.<\/p>\n

The Axionlog site plan shows a 59,336-square-foot expansion north of its current building with additional pavement and site work. The North Jacksonville facility is at 11370 New Berlin Road.<\/p>\n

Axionlog completed the first phase of its cold- and dry-storage warehouse in 2022 at northwest New Berlin and Faye roads.<\/p>\n

The expansion tracks Axionlog\u2019s initially announced plans that it would start with freezer and dry storage space that was designed to expand to almost 105,000 square feet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

JAX Chamber announced in December 2019 that the company would establish a consolidation\/distribution facility in Duval County and start with 25 jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before the pandemic, JaxPort announced Feb. 25, 2020, that Axionlog chose it to ship its U.S.-manufactured exports bound for Latin America.<\/p>\n

JaxPort said Axionlog intended to open the warehouse by early 2021 and that the 38,000-square-foot facility was expected to expand to 100,000 square feet and create 60 jobs within five years.<\/p>\n

That initial time frame was affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which led to shutdowns in March 2020.<\/p>\n

Axionlog is building a distribution center near Blount Island Marine Terminal in North Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

The city approved a $2.9 million permit June 14, 2021, for Axionlog to build the initial cold and dry storage warehouse.<\/p>\n

The city had issued permits totaling $125,000 for site clearing on 16.53 acres, foundation construction and other work.<\/p>\n

Axionlog, a global restaurant supplier, proposed to build a $15 million warehouse.<\/p>\n

The \u201c2020 Distribution Center for Axionlog Cold Solutions\u201d plans showed freezer, cooler and dry-storage space connected to cool-dock and dry-dock space and an office.<\/p>\n

Faye Road Associates LLC, associated with V. Paulius & Associates, is the landowner.<\/p>\n

Axionlog is a full-service logistics provider that manages the transportation of restaurant supplies, including food, flatware, and paper and plastic products for some of the world\u2019s largest fast-food chains, according to JaxPort.<\/p>\n

The distribution center was designed to consolidate, sort and store products to be exported through JaxPort. The site is near the Blount Island Marine Terminal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

JaxPort said Axionlog planned to start importing products for domestic distribution by 2022.<\/p>\n

Axionlog.com says it is a global supply chain manager with more than 60 food-market customers in Latin American countries. It says it operates 24 distribution centers with more than 1,700 employees.<\/p>\n

It lists Dairy Queen, McDonald\u2019s, Subway and Quiznos among its customers.<\/p>\n
