{"id":239213,"date":"2026-04-20T17:59:27","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T17:59:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/239213\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T17:59:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T17:59:27","slug":"triplex-fire-that-displaced-16-in-lauderhill-originated-from-stand-alone-freezer-fire-department-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/239213\/","title":{"rendered":"Triplex fire that displaced 16 in Lauderhill originated from stand-alone freezer, fire department says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">LAUDERHILL, Fla.  \u2014 A fire that erupted Sunday night at a triplex in Lauderhill originated from a stand-alone freezer, Lauderhill Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Jerry Gonzalez told Local 10 News Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to fire rescue officials, the fire erupted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/04\/19\/16-forced-out-after-triplex-fire-in-lauderhill-no-injuries\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/04\/19\/16-forced-out-after-triplex-fire-in-lauderhill-no-injuries\/\">at about 7:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Northwest 15th Street.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A long line of fire trucks stretched across the scene, with Lauderhill police also responding to the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A total of 16 residents were displaced from their homes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Neighbors gathered outside, watching as crews worked to extinguish the flames. One man who lives two doors down said the fire was hard to miss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIt was dark. It had a certain smell, like (an) electrical scent,\u201d the man, identified only as Maxwell, said. \u201cBlack smoke.
