One suspect told officers he did not realize how fast he was traveling because his “speedometer was broken,” according to an affidavit.<\/p>\n

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla \u2014 Two drivers were arrested in Pinellas County on April 18 on charges of super speeding<\/a> in separate incidents investigated by state and local law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested Donnell Larry Bingham after troopers reportedly clocked a 2019 Infiniti Q60 traveling 135 mph in a posted 55-mph zone on the Howard Frankland Bridge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the arrest affidavit, Bingham\u2019s speed was recorded using a moving, car-mounted radar system. The incident occurred around 2:05 a.m. northbound on Interstate 275.<\/p>\n

Later that day, officers with the Clearwater Police Department arrested Daniel Ryan Hatzel following a traffic stop on U.S. 19 near State Road 590.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said Hatzel was observed driving a Chevrolet Silverado at approximately 105 mph, with radar confirming a speed of 107 mph in a 55 mph zone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hatzel allegedly told officers he did not realize how fast he was traveling because his \u201cspeedometer was broken.\u201d<\/p>\n
