TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – After nearly seven years of leading Second Harvest of the Big Bend, Monique Ellsworth is set to transition out of her role as CEO in the coming weeks, according to the organization. <\/p>\n
In a statement Tuesday morning, Second Harvest revealed that Ellsworth will be stepping down from her position, effective May 15, to take on a new role as CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. <\/p>\n
She says leading Second Harvest has been an incredible honor and that she will always cheer on its important work across North Florida.<\/p>\n
\u201cI step away with deep gratitude for all we\u2019ve accomplished and full confidence in the organization\u2019s ability to continue ensuring our neighbors have the food and resources they need to thrive,\u201d Ellsworth said. \u201cSecond Harvest will continue to make a meaningful impact across North Florida, thanks to its extraordinary team, dedicated Board, and generous donors and volunteers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The search for Ellsworth\u2019s replacement will begin in the coming weeks, according to the statement. <\/p>\n
In the meantime, Jacob Reiter will serve as Interim CEO with the support of leaders James McGowan and Arun Dhanarajan, the organization said.<\/p>\n
Second Harvest of the Big Bend Board Chair Daniel Petronio says they are grateful for Ellsworth\u2019s leadership and dedication and wish her the best in her future endeavors.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince joining Second Harvest of the Big Bend in October 2019, Monique has guided the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic, three consecutive hurricanes, service expansion into five additional counties, and key infrastructure growth, including our new Impact Center,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
