\nThe Captiva Civic Association will host its Summer Wine Preview with wine steward Calli Johnson duPont on April 27 at the Captiva Civic Center on Captiva.<\/p>\n
Tickets are available for a wine tasting focused on the perfect pairings for summertime activities.<\/p>\n
The Captiva Civic Association (CCA) will present its Summer Wine Preview on April 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Captiva Civic Center on Captiva. A Bit of Bailey\u2019s and The Island Store wine steward Calli Johnson duPont will serve as host, with food pairings crafted by Chef Karl Hamme.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur wine tastings are so popular during season,\u201d Board President Lisa Riordan said, explaining that the CCA actually received a request for a summer event from those who were still on the islands.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we added another event, but wanted a little bit of a different theme,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The featured wines will be selected for the warm summer months. Attendees will enjoy a refreshing lineup of reds, whites and ros\u00e9s that are perfect for sunny afternoon and island evening sipping.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s lighter wines than perhaps you might have with a winter meal,\u201d Riordan said. \u201cMore fun and festive \u2014 maybe served at a summer barbecue type of wines.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hamme will serve up the culinary pairings.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always a very pleasant surprise of what Karl pairs with the wines,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s had a great amount of fun putting together the pairings.\u201d<\/p>\n
Attendees will have the chance to order the featured bottles for pick up.<\/p>\n
Valerie Tutor is sponsoring the event.<\/p>\n

Karen Bell and the Bell Team, with Michael Saunders and Company, is the CCA\u2019s season sponsor.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $60 for members and $70 for non-members.<\/p>\n
The deadline for tickets is April 24.<\/p>\n
The community is invited to reserve a spot.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always an adventure, it\u2019s always delicious and it\u2019s always fun,\u201d Riordan said of the CCA\u2019s wine tastings. \u201cIt\u2019s the community getting together to share information and learn something new.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our final event of the season,\u201d she added. \u201cSo it\u2019s a farewell to the season.\u201d<\/p>\n
