\nThe 14th annual \u201cDing\u201d Darling & Doc Ford\u2019s Tarpon Tournament will take place on May 15.<\/p>\n

\nSpecial guest and seven-time Federal Duck Stamp Contest winner Jim Hautman will make an appearance at the J.N. \u201cDing\u201d Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s Art in the Wild on Oct. 20-22.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDing\u201d Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) provided the following updates for the J.N. \u201cDing\u201d Darling National Wildlife Refuge, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel:<\/p>\n

\u2013 The refuge will host Earth Day festivities today, April 22, including special guided tours, games, crafts, educational talks and other programs throughout the day.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The refuge\u2019s Visitor & Education Center will be closed on April 23 for staff training.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The 14th annual \u201cDing\u201d Darling & Doc Ford\u2019s Tarpon Tournament will take place on May 15. The tourney has filled. To be placed on the wait list, contact DDWS Events, Marketing and Grants Manager Angeli Chin at angeli@dingdarlingsociety.org.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Celebrate the nation\u2019s 250th anniversary with the refuge on July 4.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Art will meet nature at Art in the Wild on Oct. 20-22.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The refuge will celebrate Jay Norwood \u201cDing\u201d Darling\u2019s 150th birthday on Oct. 21.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The REVIVE! Trash-To-Fashion Couture Collection Show will be held on Nov. 4. The deadline for applications is May 15 at 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n
