STUART, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A car struck a gas pump at a Mobile Mart early Wednesday after the driver lost control due to a mechanical problem, police said.<\/p>\n

The Stuart Police Department <\/a>said its officers were called to the convenience store at the corner of U.S. 1 and Colorado Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. after a single-vehicle crash.<\/p>\n

Officers said an Infiniti sedan had just turned left from Kanner Highway onto northbound U.S. 1 when a mechanical issue caused the driver to lose control. The car drove into the gas station parking lot and collided with a pump.<\/p>\n

Stuart Police officers and Stuart Fire Rescue secured the scene and ensured there was no danger to the public. Authorities said the driver was not injured.<\/p>\n
